Returning for their 61st season in Santa Cruz the two weeks of concerts, lectures and special events will be featured in the 2023 Cabrillo Festival program which brings unparalleled energy, dynamism and a fabulous celebration of music by 17 of the world’s most exciting composers with seven outstanding guest artists. This incredible program will introduce two world premiere commissions: a US premiere, and nine West Coast  premieres which will be showcased by Maestro Cristian Macelaru and the amazing Festival Orchestra.

Gordon Biersch Night Market in San Jose

Every Thursday Eve from Spring-to-Fall, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Join the city’s locals to enjoy this annual outing to the city’s Japantown Market located in the popular brewery’s parking lot. Find a rotating selection of dozens of food trucks, live entertainment and the main attraction: the craft beer is poured every Thursday and once a month: the live wrestling. Look for the talented artisans to show and sell their unique creations.

San Francisco Jewish Film Festival

July 20 – August 6, 2023

The endearing comic genius of screen actor Gene Wilder comes to life in the opening movie screening of the documentary “Remembering Gene Wilder” – a loving tribute to Wilder which opens the 2023 San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.

Mrs. Gene Wilder will be in attendance. The following theaters will be participating in screening of the festival’s movies: Castro Theater, the Vogue Theater and The Green Room at the War Memorial & Performing Arts Center in San Francisco and the Landmark’s Piedmont Theater in Oakland. Following the “Remembering Gene Wilder” screening the party continues at the War Memorial Green Room.

Creative Summer at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos

Kids’ Carnival

July 30 at 10 a.m. – Noon

Founded by  helicopter pioneer Stanley Hiller Jr. and opened to the public in June 1998, the museum has been offering exciting programs for kids of all ages.

And now that the school is closed for the summer, the next best thing is – head to the Hiller Aviation Museum to have fun. After all that’s what vacations are all about: Fun!

Have some high-flying fun under the sun at the Hiller Aviation Museum’s Kids’ Carnival! Family-friendly activities: Help construct the Penguin airplane, build and fly paper helicopters, check out in the cockpit of the Aero Commander airplane, paint a Cessna Cardinal and more!
