Carnevale, Italian Style: Masquerade, Dinner, and Dance
February 24, 6:30 p.m.

The muse of romance adds an exciting extravaganza as the Bay Area’s Leonardo da Vinci Society and the Italian Cultural Institute present a fabulous Carnevale 2017 with the support of the Italian Consulate General in San Francisco. A family evening of fun and romance, it includes an Italian buffet dinner, live music from Italy by Rolando Giambelli, a mini dance show and ItalianCarnevaledance class with Christina. Dress in costume and be ready to eat, dance, and be a part of the adult and children’s costume contest. Children are encouraged to joining the festivities. The Leonardo da Vinci Society is a cultural organization based in San Francisco. The Society organizes presentations and other events that highlight the importance of Italian history and culture, and the importance of Italian contributions to American life. Membership is open to all who love Italy and wish to learn more about this wonderful country.

Police Officers Ball in Los Gatos
February 25, 6:30 p.m.

PoliceLosGatosJoin the festivities at the Los Gatos – Monte Sereno Inaugural Police Officers Ball to benefit the officers’ foundation, which is committed to supporting the city’s community by providing funding for public safety tools and educational outreach programs. A wonderful evening of delightful food, tantalizing wines, and live entertainment will be hosted by the Testarossa Winery, a historic cave winery in the picturesque hills of Los Gatos. The elegant sit-down dinner will feature a four-course gourmet dinner featuring Ahi Tuna Tartare, Beef Wellington, and Wild Mushroom Fritters as appetizers, Scottish Salmon and Tuscan Braised Short Ribs for the main course and fabulous desserts to culminate this delicious journey. Black tie attire is optional.  Buon Appetito!

Rhythm in the Night
March 3, 8:00 p.m.

Irish Dacne2No need to travel to Ireland to see the famous dancers in action. The good news is that the world-renowned Irish dance troupe will perform their fast hard shoe rhythms and graceful soft shoe jigs to an epic orchestral soundtrack, while state-of-the-art lightning ignites the stage into an explosive display of dance and music right here at the Heritage Theatre in Campbell. Rhythm in the Night re-imagines traditional dance to take the audience on an exciting journey for an unforgettable experience the entire family will marvel at and enjoy without getting on a plane. This is truly an Irish dance spectacular. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Lina Broydo immigrated from Russia, then the Soviet Union, to Israel where she was educated and got married. After working at the University in Birmingham, England, she and her husband immigrated to the United States. She lives in Los Altos Hills, CA and writes about travel, art, style, entertainment, and sports. She hardly cooks or bakes, with no borsch or piroshky on her home cooking menu. Therefore, she makes reservations and enjoys dining out, mostly sushi.
