The BASHOF annual Enshrinement Banquet is the biggest sports related celebration gathering in the Bay Area and each year is attended by Bay Area sports teams, numerous sports celebrities, well-known media, business executives and sponsors, whose generous support is very vital for kids in the Bay Area through the BASHOF Youth Fund and Scholarships.
With the motto of Helping Kids Play Sports, BASHOF has donated close to four million dollars to over 600 Youth Sports organizations in the Bay Area.
“Helping thousands of kids be involved in sports and keeping them active through athletics helps develop many valuable skills and lessons,” says Kevin O’Brien, BASHOF’s President and CEO. “The current and the past inductees would all agree that involvement in sports had a positive impact on their lives.”
The 2015 honorees are joining 155 women and men who have been inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame for the past 36 years. Joe Montana, Donna de Varona, Al Attles, Willie Mays, Brian Boitano, Julie Inkster, Dwight Clark, Bruce Jenner, Billie Jean King, John Madden, Willie McCovey, John McEnroe, Jerry Rice, Mark Spitz, Bill Walsh and Kristy Yamaguchi are just some of the greatest sports figures of all time featured on the roster of the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinees.

Lina Broydo immigrated from Russia, then the Soviet Union, to Israel where she was educated and got married. After working at the University in Birmingham, England she and her husband immigrated to the United States. She lives in Los Altos Hills, CA and writes about travel, art, style, entertainment, and sports. She hardly cooks or bakes, with no borsch or piroshky on her home cooking menu. Therefore, she makes reservations and enjoys dining out, mostly sushi.
