Lang Lang in a Dazzling Recital in San Francisco
February 7, at 8 p.m.
He is back! Lang Lang’s “colossal talent” is on full display as the international piano phenomenon brings his trademark showmanship and heartfelt artistry to Liszt’s emotionally charged Piano Sonata in B minor, considered one of the composer’s greatest works for solo piano. The program continues with virtuosic music including Falla’s Danza Ritual del Fuego, Albéniz selections from Suite Española, Debussy Ballade and selections from Granados’ Goyescas. Alert: don’t leave the concert too early, as Lang Lang tends to enrich the evening’s program by playing a number of well-known compositions following the audience’s standing ovations.
