Stravaig – SF Scottish Fiddlers led by Alasdair Fraser
April 25, 7pm (Davis), April 26, 7pm (San Rafael), April 27, 1pm (Santa Rosa)
Enjoy the festive and energetic performance by the SF Scottish Fiddlers led by the legendary Alasdair Fraser who promises a musical journey like no other! “Since 1986, it’s been a wild and joyful ride leading the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers—and deciding to step back after so many amazing years wasn’t easy.
This year’s concerts will be our most heartfelt yet, with musicians of all ages pouring their hearts into the music—from fiddles to flutes, cellos to percussions, and even a musical saw! I’d love for families to come be part of it all—laugh, dance, hear stories, and share in the magic of Scottish traditions that will live on long after the final note.” Over 80 musicians on fiddles, cellos, piano, drums, and guitars deliver a spirited performance—ranging from high-energy dance tunes to soulful, romantic melodies. Rooted in Scotland, the adventure expands to Brittany, Galicia, Scandinavia, Cape Breton and now to the Bay Area. Toe-tapping, seat-dancing, and aisle-dancing are encouraged! Wear your favorite Scottish style skirt just in case Alasdair Fraser invites you to join him on stage.
