San Francisco Symphony Celebrates 16th Annual Dia De Los Muertos ( (Day of the Dead) with a Festive Concert, Lobby Installations, Community Activities and a Lavish Fiesta Dinner Experience

November 4th at 2 p.m.

This is definitely a fabulous concert and a celebration not to be missed. Miguel Harth-Bedoya conducts the San Francisco Symphony in the concert program, which includes music by Clarice Assad, Arturo Márquez, Alfonso Leng, Silvestre Revueltas, and Arturo Rodríguez.

Vocalist Edna Vázquez also joins the Symphony to perform a selection of songs. Dancers from Casa Círculo Cultural and performers from Canción de Obsidiana are featured throughout the concert. Every year leading up to the Symphony’s Day of the Dead celebration, the lobbies of Davies Symphony Hall are transformed with immersive art installations and altars built by local artists to honor the living and the deceased. Curated by longtime SF Symphony collaborator Martha Rodríguez-Salazar, this year’s celebration features music, art, and activities relating to Maya culture. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the installations, family activities, sugar skulls, and live marimba music. Everyone is invited to leave messages on the interactive altar. The Día de los Muertos Concert is presented in partnership with the San Francisco Arts Commission. ¡Fiesta! Día de los Muertos presenting sponsors include Alexander’s Steakhouse Group, Pamela Rummage Culp, and Sharon & David Seto. See you there!

Mrs. Christie Vanished and Reappeared at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.. or Did She?

Now through October 29, 2023

Mrs. Christie, authored by Heidi Armbruster and directed by Giovanna Sardelli, is the story of Agatha Christie vanishing in 1926 and reappearing eleven days later without explanation. It was a tabloid sensation—a mystery that, nearly a century later, remains unsolved. Fast forward to today: More than a little lost herself, a Christie superfan named Lucy makes the pilgrimage to the author’s estate. When she happens upon an unpublished diary written in Christie’s own hand, Lucy resolves to crack the case once and for all. In parallel storylines that blend past, present, and Poirot, Mrs. Christie proves that sometimes you need to disappear in order to find yourself.

Or do you?

“CAPTIVATING! A high-quality production with superb acting” — Los Altos Town Crier; “FIZZES AND DIZZIES! Blazes with talent. Whet your inner Hercule Poirot.”— San Francisco Chronicle; “Clever enough to share the Christie name… this is a show that everyone will enjoy” — Theater by the Bay

Need I say more? See this intriguing and fascinating production by the amazing TheaterWorks team of talented and brilliant actors and producers… but do not disappear!
