Events Around the Bay
October 1 and 2, 2022 | 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM
27th Annual Northern California’s celebrated and beloved Great Glass Pumpkin Patch returns to Palo Alto for another memorable year. Benefiting the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI), the Palo Alto Art Center, the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, and participating glass artists.
The weekend exhibit features more than 10,000 unique and one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins, gourds, and autumnal keepsakes—in countless arrays of colors and sizes—all available for enjoyment and purchase. Glass demonstrations and food trucks will be available for the entire family to enjoy! I started collecting these magnificent colorful glass pumpkins over 25 years ago and they are still in great shape and fascinate my guests each year who join us for the Thanksgiving dinner. 20 years ago the talented artists of BAGI created a 10 foot tall Christmas tree for the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. It was decorated by their glass creations and It was truly sparkling and spectacular! It took a team of 5 dedicated glass artists to work all night in setting it up for the hotel guests and visitors to enjoy and be awestruck. Free admission.

San Jose Civic Presents Comedian/Actor Sebastian Maniscalco
October 1 at 7 p.m.
Sebastian Maniscalco is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He has released five comedy specials. Maniscalco has also had supporting acting roles in the films “Green Book” and “The Irishman”, playing mobster Joe Gallo in the latter.
Sebastian, my absolutely favorite comedian, has finally found his way to San Jose! And I will definitely be there. It’s a warm-up act for him as he is scheduled to perform a few shows in Las Vegas. Should I follow him to Las Vegas? I am ready to laugh a lot…
