Hated, Ridiculed, Rejected: This Politician Saved the West

Unpopular with the most popular people and ideas of the day.

Unacceptable to his own party.

Undermined by most politically crippling methods.

Mocked for awkwardness – social and otherwise.

Resisted and shunned by the establishment.

Ridiculed for his un-presidential-ness, strange appearance, and deviation from societal and elitists-determined norms for a leader.

His strategies are thwarted, his motives and plans for achieving foreign policy goals are dismissed as crazy and dangerous.

Rejected with “he must be stopped at all costs” at the highest levels of government.

Accused of provoking powerful enemies.

Laughed at (by elitists) for his mannerisms, behaviors and methods of communication.

Denied financial and military support by foreign allies with seemingly the same goals.

Ostracized by all closest foreign allies.

Jeered at (by politicians) for his inability to comply with standard rules of communication prescribed for a leader of a country.

Hated and resented by the outgoing leader who does everything to prevent him from becoming successful on any level.

Caricatured for his odd habits and his indulgences, by the media.

Dismissed as insane for all his foreign policy ideas and domestic plans, which were considered inapplicable and very dangerous.

…Yet, he led one of world’s greatest nations. And half of his country adored him and remained uncharacteristically loyal in the face of loud progressive voices of resistance.

No, not Donald Trump.

Sir Winston Churchill.
Sir Winston Churchill.

The man who defeated Nazi Germany and restored order in the entire world, in spite of his own country’s political opposition (from within his own party and beyond) and general loathing of him. He was the cigar-smoking, alcohol-dependent, politicians-despised, overweight, less-than-good-looking, straight-shooting, shithole-residing (underground war rooms), monarchy-shunned, establishment hated, uber unPresidential greatest man of the 20th century. And perhaps, the greatest man in history of the world. And yes, we owe him everything. EVERYTHING!

Now, why is that his story of political life seem awfully similar to the man who defeated ISIS?
